Mobility scooter user enters Shreddies Knitting Nana competition
A 75-year-old mobility scooter user is in the running to become the next Shreddies Knitting Nana.
Winnie Clarkson is currently third in the national competition to become the next face of Shreddies, having already attracted 13,000 votes, the Scarborough Evening News reported.
For her entry, the daring grandmother, who was persuaded to enter by her granddaughter Cerstie, was filmed for a clip where she is seen negotiating an obstacle course in her mobility scooter, skipping and jumping on a trampoline.
If she wins, the mobility scooter user's face will feature on cereal boxes throughout the UK.
Speaking to the newspaper, Ms Clarkson said: "I just did it for a laugh. I can't walk too far any more, but I can sit and knit."
"I enjoyed making the video - it was great. I know I've got quite a few votes, and I feel good about that. Somebody's got to win, and I'd be really happy if I did."
Last month, Welsh gran Norma Bousfield told Wales Online that she was hoping to win the competition.
