Mobility scooter towed away after outstaying its welcome
It seems even mobility scooter riders aren't safe from parking wardens.
Adam Vanderveken spotted a scooter being towed away by officials on a street in Thorpe Bay, Essex.
Apparently the offending vehicle had been parked there longer than the allotted time limit of one hour.
The 25-year-old bank worker told the Sun: "I looked out the window and saw them taking it away. It just shows nobody gets away with parking too long here."
Last month, a mobility scooter user in Horwich told the Bolton News how he was often abused by other drivers for travelling on the roads.
He explained that he had begun to use number plates on his vehicle to let other motorists know that his scooter is actually a legitimate road vehicle.
Class 2 mobility vehicles, such as powered wheelchairs, are only allowed on the pavements, but Class 3 vehicles can travel on both the pavements and roads.
